Welcome to Room 216! Room 216 is a mulit-age classroom with grades 4, 5, and 6. In Writer's Workshop, we will be working on developing each student's writing abilities. We use a writer's notebook to record our ideas and create drafts of stories and reports. We also will be doing word study and grammar during this time. In Reader's Workshop, we will be studying a variety of authors and genres of literature. We keep a reader's notebook to reflect on our reading. We have begun the year with a focus on realistic fiction. In Social Studies this year, we are studying the geography of the United States, the Incas and Mayas, and the history of the United States up to the Civil War.
