I would like to welcome you to Room 108’s home page! It is going to be another wonderful year and I am looking forward to working with you and the students this year. This year our room currently has 25 students and is a made up of 1st and 2nd grade students this year. It is great to have had the 2nd grade students and worked with their families for the past year and I am excited about our new 1st graders and also working with their families.
For those families who do not know me this is my 5th year at Nokomis Montessori Magnet School. I started my first year teaching E2 (4th, 5th, and 6th grade). Then I moved down to E1 4 years ago. I have been teaching for 12 years in a few different Montessori schools.
This year I will be again sending monthly/bimonthly newsletters again this year to help communicate with you and to let you know what is going on at Nokomis Montessori School and in Room 108. Feel free to contact me through out the year at 651-293-8857 ext 1089 or gregory.williams@spps.org if you have any questions. My prep time is 1:20-2:10 this year.
Literacy Support for this year: This year I am working with Ela Murphy for English as a Learned Language support. Also Joan Geraghty isassisting with Literacy support for the students.
Differentiated instruction in our classroom: The Montessori and the multi-age classroom foster differentiated instruction for all students in the classroom. For those students who are gifted and talented the instruction continue to receive additional lessons, instruction and support their learning. As a classroom teacher I differentiate my instruction daily and use small group instruction for all of the students.
