Welcome to our site! We are excited to have our own WEB page! My name is Clare Robinson and I have been a classroom teacher at Nokomis Montessori since 1992. I received my Montessori training at the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis.
Our classroom is a multi-age group of 27 1st and 2nd grade learners.
We work collaboratively with Susan Bowman, Literacy teacher, and Ela Murphy, ELL teacher to provide a rich learning environment for all students. We use the Reader's and Writer's workshop model to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of our Gifted and Talented students. Our Montessori math materials are beautifully made and hands-on and allow for children to work at their own level. Our Culture Studies this year includes botany, invertebrate and vertebrate animals, continent study and map skills. We are also doing a monthly E1 art rotation to study various artists and do an art project based on their work.
A reminder that homework goes home on Tuesdays and is due back on Mondays.
