13th Annual Science Fair!
It's hard to believe but we celebrate our 13th Science Fair this year!  It is scheduled for Thursday, March 25.

Sixth grade scientists are now developing their experimental projects.  An experiment is an orgainized way to find an answer to a question.  They are required to do an experimental project before they graduate from Nokomis.  Currently they are selecting topics and developing their projects.

All scientists in grades first through fifth can choose to participate in the Science Fair for extra credit.  Science Fair topics should be related to science in some way.  It might be a research project, demonstration project (shows how something works), a debatable issue or "Improve An Invention" type project.  For those who are interested in the "Improve An Invention" type project, please ask for more details.  Science Fair information (with Parent Signature slips included) will come home sometime during this month of January.  If your child is interested in joining this year's Science Fair please make sure their Parent Signature slip is signed and returned.  Student scientists are asked to bring their project materials on Wednesday, March 24 for set-up in the gym.

Science Fair Judging will be the morning of Thursday, March 25 from 9:00 until 11:00.  If you are interested in science, young scientists pursuing scientific knowledge and encouraging students in their efforts to learn science then you would make a great Science Fair Judge.  It is reported to be a wonderful experience by those who have been judges in the past.
